Happy Mother's Day (and other stuff too!)

Happy Mother's Day (late) to all the mom's out there! We had an enjoyable mother's day- Matthew let me sleep in :) and the boys brought me breakfast in bed! We went to church and then came home to let the boys sleep. After their naps, we went to Sandbridge Beach to enjoy a nice picnic. It was a little bit breezy and chilly, but nice (Saturday it was 95 degrees...) gotta luv the VA Beach crazy weather...

"What are you looking at?"

Caleb turned four months old on the 7th... that is so hard to believe!! Time creeps by so slowly when you are pregnant awaiting this new little miracle, but once they are here, it flies!!!

Drew is doing great as well, he has finished up his swimming lessons and is enjoying his weekends at the beach! He will go to the YMCA preschool in the fall and continue his swimming lessons! We can't wait for our pool to open in the neighborhood, Memorial Day weekend!

We finally got a new computer- woohoo for us! I have also joined the world of facebook which is cool! Still teaching 5th grade, and getting ready to have a talent show on Friday! We have been putting in endless hours of practice for the big show! I am sure the faculty performance will end up on youtube...

Until next time!!!!

Happy Easter!

After returning from church, Drew hunted Easter eggs in the back yard!

The boys are all dressed up and ready for church. It was a little bit chilly for their shorts and T-shirts!!!
Caleb has discovered his feet!!!

He is also raising up and rolling over!!!
HAPPY EASTER! HE HAS RISEN INDEED!!!!

Just some thoughts...

I know I promised pictures of the baptism.... we haven't gotten the CD back yet from our friend who took the pictures, so it'll be a while longer...

We have been very busy over the past month! I sometimes wonder if things will ever slow down!! My job situation has definitely been interesting to say the least... when I moved from NC, I just assumed that I would have a job. God hasn't let me down, however it has been difficult to not have a "home". After teaching in the same school for 7 years, knowing everyone, this has surely been a challenge.

When we first moved here, I was at BM Williams in Chesapeake teaching Pre-K in summer school. In the fall, they asked me back to do a long term sub in 2nd grade. That was awesome, and I thought it would become permanent... after the lady I subbed for got better, and I got put on bedrest, God had other plans.

After having Caleb, I prayed to find a job. On the way back from NC when Caleb was only a month old, I got a message from a lady at our church, saying her school needed a long term sub in 2nd grade. I called the principal, got an interview and started the next day! This too was supposed to be permanent (or possibly in the fall becoming permanent). With the economy the way it is, the teacher wanted to return. This principal felt so bad for me she sent out an email immediately, forwarding my information to other principals. I got a call within a week and to make another real long story short, I am now at my 3rd school teaching 5th grade Language Arts and Social Studies. Surprise surprise, I LOVE IT!!!

So, if nothing else, after this school year, I have a long resume..... pray that I can hopefully call one of these three schools, home (next year). I will remain here at Kempsville Meadows ES until the end of the school year. It is a wonderful place!!

Hopefully I can post soon the pictures from the baptism!

Spring break starts next week! YIPEEE. Happy Lent!

A fun weekend

We had a very busy weekend and thought we would share some of our pictures with you! Drew started swimming lessons at the YMCA on Saturday. We are hoping he will learn to swim by the end of the classes. He is in a class for 6-36 month olds, to help them get used to the water. The instructor played lots of games with them and was very surprised at Drew, when she handed him a letter and would say, "What's that letter?" and he would actually tell her, "that's an F!" We are hoping he will learn to swim as quickly as he has learned his ABC's!

This was, "Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall, Humpty Dumpty had a great fall!" and he had to fall into the pool.

"Please don't splash my face!!!"

This is fun!

And then there was... Caleb. He turned 2 months old on Saturday and has started smiling a lot! He is such a joyful baby and looks quite like his big brother.

Caleb's first "real" trip to the beach on Sunday. Last Sunday it was snowing, yesterday it was 81 degrees.... and it's supposed to be cold again this next weekend... Who knows about the weather around here. Drew got in the water at the beach. We couldn't believe it! It was SOOO cold!! Your feet could only take about 5 seconds before they began to throb... of course we didn't let him go far or stay long, but he sure enjoyed running into the surf. Speaking of surf, there were SURFERS out there, they HAD to be crazy!!!

Next Sunday, we will celebrate Caleb's baptism, so STAY TUNED!!!

A few firsts

So last week, it decided to snow!!! This picture is of our backyard, a few hours after it started to melt, but we had a pretty good dusting! It was funny though, because the schools were out a few weeks ago due to a "virtual" snow day- they were calling for 2-4 inches and everyone got scared so they called off school. Nothing... SO on the make up day it actually snowed!

Our first real snow

Me and the boys decided to go out tonight for a little bit of ice cream on the boardwalk. It was a warm 69 degrees today, but didn't feel too warm in the wind at night, but Drew did enjoy himself! He wanted to go swimming!!!

Drew, Daddy and Caleb taking a walk to the water.
Caleb's first trip to the beach!!!

Drew liked playing on the hills of sand on the beach (this is where they had all of the Christmas lights- on top of the hills)

This was Drew's first ice cream cone! He's not real big into ice cream, more of a cookie and cake kinda guy (he takes after me :) The man working at Dairy Queen gave the cone to him!

Chadwick update

It has been a while since our last post, hopefully this will make up for some lost time!!! We experienced our first road trip with two young ones last weekend and what a long drive home. A trip that once took us 7 1/2 hours took over 9 this time.

I got another long term sub position in 2nd grade at a school about 30-45 minutes from here so that's exciting! Caleb will go to daycare with Drew :( I'm not real sure I'm ready for that but I know he's in good hands.

Caleb was diagnosed with reflux (big surprise) and is now on meds like Drew was when he was a baby.

Enjoy our pictures!
Drew playing with his umbrella inside.... I don't think he knows that it's bad luck!

Caleb catching some zzzzz's on the couch... during the day of course. He doesn't like to sleep much at night yet. We are praying that he will very soon!

This was at Sarah's 27th birthday last weekend. Look at all the babies! And to think, there are two more on the way! (Not us....)

Our church held an "Enchanted Evening" for Valentine's Day. It was so much fun. The youth were our servers for the 7 course meal. It was wonderful! They turned the fellowship hall into a beautiful restaurant atmosphere. After the meal was done, we had some dancing! This is a shot of the youth doing the YMCA.

This is a picture of Matthew from the dance doing... I don't know what... :)

My parents enjoying the evening.

Aren't we cute? J/K.... We were excited to have a night to ourselves!

Me and Matthew, Mike and Alisha at the end of the evening.

Me and Matthew, Lori and Tim some more of our friends from church.

Hopefully, it won't be so long before our next post, but no promises with me starting a full time job this week!

1 Week Old

Could these boys be related? The first picture is Drew at a week old, the second, Caleb at a week old. They do look alike!!!

Caleb is a week old!

It is amazing how slowly the past month or so went by, waiting on this angel to get here.... twice a week doctor visits, 3 trips to the hospital(well 4 counting delivery) and this past week has FLOWN by!

We are overwhelmed at how blessed we are to have two beautiful little boys in our life.

Meet Caleb

So... here are the long awaited pictures that I promised! Our new year has been filled with many new blessings- here is our favorite one!

Caleb Edward Chadwick born on January 7th, 2009 at 2:29 pm. We debated until the moment the lady came from vital records on his middle name. There were many that we liked! We chose Edward (Matthew's middle name) which is also a family name. Drew was named after several men in my family with the name of Andrew (my grandfather and uncle).

A very content little boy waiting to see his mommy!

Ahhh... finally getting to see mommy.

One proud daddy!!!!

Grandma and Grandpa finally get to meet Caleb.

Nana and Papa finally get to meet Caleb!

Big brother Drew finally gets to meet Caleb! He was SO sweet. You never know how a 2 year old is going to react to a sibbling. Especially one so strong willed as Drew- wonder where he gets that? When Caleb cried, Drew would say, "it's ok baby Caleb". Since being home he has been a big help. He especially likes to hold him.

Kisses from big brother..

Drew had to touch his eyes, nose, head, and all other parts of the face and tell us all about it!

Caleb is such an easy going baby. Drew was too, but I think Caleb is even more laid back than Drew was. He is sleeping pretty good, the last two nights he has slept for 4 hours at a time! I only had to get up with him once last night around 3:30 or so and he was awake for about an hour and slept until almost 8 this morning. God bless the sleep!!!!
Until next time........

Welcome Caleb!

We welcomed our son Caleb Edward Chadwick on Wednesday, January 7th at 2:29pm! He weighed in at 6lbs 10oz and 19 1/4 in long. We all underestimated his size! Everything went as good as can be (except that the epidural didn't work, but it's all good) and Caleb is very healthy. We had a wonderful experience at Chesapeake General.

We came home today around 2:00. He is a very laid back baby- even more so than Drew, that's kinda scary!!! Drew is adjusting well to his new baby brother.

We will post pictures tomorrow when we get them loaded on the computer!

Wednesday is the day!

We found out today that I will be induced on Wednesday! We will post pictures as soon as he gets here!!!!
