If you go to the Customize tab, then the Page Elements tab, you'll see the gadgets on the right side of the page (pictures, link lists, blog atchive, etc.). If you've ever added a gadget for a blog template, you'll need to delete it. If you don't then your page tries to load all other blog templates as well as the new one you're trying to use.
